Wollert, located about 26–27 km north of Melbourne’s CBD in the City of Whittlesea, is a large and rapidly expanding suburb, home to over 24,400 residents as of 2021. The suburb supports a growing educational network, now hosting four primary schools—Wollert (2022), Edgars Creek (2021), Barrawang (2023), and the upcoming Wirrigirri (2025)—as well as two secondary colleges: Edgars Creek Secondary (2018) and Wollert Secondary (2023)

The suburb benefits from excellent road access via the Hume Freeway, Craigieburn Bypass, and Epping Road, enabling practical commutes to Melbourne. Public transport currently relies on bus links to nearby Epping and Craigieburn train stations . A proposed rail extension from Lalor to Wollert has been earmarked in state planning since 2017—including potential stations at Aurora and Wollert—but funding has yet to be secured
